356 Convertible D

CPR Classic is happy to offer this pristine 1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D finished in its original color combination of Meissen Blue over a red interior. This wonderfully preserved Convertible D has been cared for by fastidious owners and prominent collectors for the entirety of its life.

The car has never received a full restoration, but rather, has been sympathetically restored and preserved over the years to ensure that it has always remained in top condition. The car's presentation cosmetically is outstanding throughout. Its current paintwork was completed years ago and remains in beautiful shape. The interior was also wholly refinished and is still in as-new condition today.

CPR first acquired this Convertible D about seven years ago. The car underwent some minor sympathetic restoration work upon arrival and was then sold to one of our long-standing private collectors. This collector exercised the vehicle on several occasions over the next six years. It spent most of its time in his climate-controlled facility with the rest of his varied collection.

Mechanically, this 356 offers one of the most pleasurable driving experiences we have encountered, whether it be cruising the coast or flying at 75mph down the freeway. The car has an upgraded 90 horsepower engine with slightly modified gear ratios and a tall 4th gear. The vehicle features a meticulously sorted undercarriage with OEM-grade bushings, bearing assemblies, brake lines, and other suspension components.

The 356 Convertible D is a highly sought after collectible Porsche model, and this car especially, as it features a rare and much-desired color combination. Convertible D's are also a genuine bargain in the open-top 356 market, as the D offers everything the 356 Speedster features and more, at a fraction of the cost.
